OHIO RTL/MERCER COUNTY ANNUAL SWEEPSTAKESIt’s that time of the year! The Ohio RTL and our RTL Chapter have combined efforts on this annual Fundraiser. 40% of all ticket sales sold from our Chapter are returned to our Chapter. Enclosed, please find 5 sheets of tickets, 6 tickets per sheet. The cost: $1.00 per ticket or a sheet of 6 for $5.00. The drawing will take place on November 6, 2009 in Columbus. Ten Cash Prizes will be awarded: 1st Place $1,000.00; (2) 2nd Place of $500.00; (2) 3rd Place of $250.00 and (5) 4th Place Prize of $100.00. Ruth & Henry Kunkler has graciously agreed to Chair this project again. Please return tickets and donations to them in the envelope provided by October 31st.
JASON EVERT, CHASITY SPEAKER September 8 – 11, Jason Evert, a Chastity speaker from Catholic Answers in San Diego, visited our area and gave 10 local presentations to jr. high and high school students. He spoke at the Celina YMCA, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Wapak, Lehman Catholic High School and to public school students from Coldwater, St. Henry, Marion Local, Russia, Versailles, Ft. Loramie, New Bremen and Minster. Even the foggy conditions didn’t stop Jason because some wonderful high school Principals worked it out so that ALL of the schools originally scheduled were still able to have their students attend the presentations. Jason, who has been married to his wife Crystalina for 6 years and has 3 children, was funny, dynamic and positive as he shared tons of great information in his 75- minute presentation. Some responses heard from those who attended the presentations include students saying it was the best school assembly they had ever heard, young women who were sexually active making decisions to start over, guys who went in dreading a “sex talk” laughing and being impressed with the talk and one High School Principal saying that the presentation was better than he could have imagined. Organizers of this speaking trip thanked Mercer County RTL for their financial support in bringing Jason to the area. When Jason realized that the RTL was involved, he told of his own involvement with the pro-life movement and praying outside of abortion clinics which was one of the reasons why he got started giving Chastity talks. INVITATION FOR HEALING TO POST ABORTION WOMEN: by Angie Crider, Celina Are you hurting from an abortion? Have you been suffering in silence, grieving and carrying the burden alone? Well, YOU ARE NOT ALONE! I am a post-abortive woman myself. Many years ago, I had an abortion. The procedure was quick and simple. It appeared at the time to be the easy way out, a solution to my problem. Little did I know, I believed a lie. I was not told the truth about what I was doing. I was spiritually dead and only living for me instead of living God’s way. I was selfish and felt nothing for years. No remorse or regret. I did not realize at the time I made the choice to abort, that it would be a permanent and life changing decision that I could not undo. Many years would pass before, one day, it would haunt me. I became an alcoholic. I abused drugs, and was sexually promiscuous, bouncing from one relationship to the next. I was a mess!! I suppose, on some level, that I was trying to numb the pain. In 2000, I went to a Project Rachel healing program. Because I was still without a personal relationship with God, I was there physically but NOT spiritually. Finally, in 2004, I started attending Church at the urging of a friend. By this time, I had gotten sober and drug free. But there was still this secret I was keeping. In 2005, the Pastor preached a message on the sanctity of human life – that abortion is a sin – but NOT an unforgivable one. I wanted to run out of that service as he was sharing the TRUTH from God’s word. I later met with the Pastor and my real journey began. I asked for forgiveness and there IS healing and forgiveness through Jesus Christ! In recent years, I have been sharing my story and going to the March for Life in Washington D.C. to give testimony with other post-abortive women, as well as with men who have lost their fatherhood due to abortion with the group Silent No More. Another opportunity for post-abortive healing lies ahead. There is going to be a wonderful and amazing retreat in Cincinnati the weekend of October 16 – 18th. HEALTHCARE REFORM: On Wednesday evening, 9/9, Pres. Obama addressed a joint session of Congress – and the nation – about his plan for a national government-run health care system, stating; “One more misunderstanding I want to clear up – under our plan, no federal dollars will be used to fund abortion.” This simply IS NO TRUE! Even the mainstream media and respected fact-checking organizations are calling out the President on this misinformation. Make no mistake about it: Abortions WILL be funded by the government through the proposed health care plan. For years, Planned Parenthood and the abortion lobby have been working towards the day when abortion would be included in comprehensive health care reform – the day when abortion coverage would become mandatory and paid for with your tax dollars. Unless we act NOW, that day is here! If Pres. Obama’s proposed health care legislation passes, abortion providers will get their wish – a multi-billion-dollar bailout, funded by the federal government through your tax dollars. We must redouble our efforts to stop the abortion mandate in proposed health care reform legislation. The pro-life movement – made up of liberals and conservatives, Democrats and Republicans – are united in an effort to keep abortion and rationing out of any Healthcare Reform. We must tell our elected officials to include language to explicitly exclude abortion from any Healthcare Reform proposal or bill. Everyone is urged to call the Washington office of U.S. Sen. We can stop this major power grab by the abortion industry – if we act today and keep up the pressure on Washington. 9/12 – Thousands upon thousands of taxpayers stormed Washington, D.C., taking their fight against excessive spending. It was estimated that it was the largest group of fiscal conservatives to ever gather in D.C. Health care was one of the countless topics covered in this massive tea party.
ABORTION (SOLOMON’S WISDOM?) A worried woman went to her gynecologist and said, “Doctor, I have a serious problem and desperately need your help! My baby is not even one year old and I’m pregnant again. I don’t want kids so close together.” So the doctor said, “Okay, and what do you want me to do?” She said, “I want you to end my pregnancy, and I’m counting on your help with this.” The doctor thought for a little while and after some silence, he said to the lady, “I think I have a better solution for your problem. It’s less dangerous for you, too.” She smiled, thinking the doctor was going to accept her request. Then he continued, “You see, in order for you not to have to take care of two babies at the same time, let’s kill the one in your arms. This way, you could rest some before the other one is born. If we’re going to kill one of them, it doesn’t matter which one it is. There would be no risk for your body if you chose the one in your arms.” The lady was horrified and said, “No doctor! How terrible! It’s a crime to kill a child!” “I agree”, the doctor replied. “But you seemed to be okay with it, so I thought maybe that was the best solution.” The doctor smiled, realizing that he had made his point. He had convinced the mom there is no difference in killing a child that’s already been born and one that’s still in the womb. The crime is the same!” “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee.” Jeremiah 1:5 May God grant us the endurance and the fortitude to stand against the evil of this president’s ideology and agenda, and the wisdom to replace him with the next true patriot who runs for that office.
PERSONHOOD USA: This organizations purpose is to end all abortions, even in cases of rape or incest, by adding fertilized embryos to constitutional and legal definitions of humans. Similar to many of the anti-abortion campaigns before it, they, however, are taking a bolder approach. This movement is spreading fast. Amendment language has been cleared, with petition drives underway in many states. Personhood USA states that it has chapters in 29 states working to get “personhood” measures on 2010 ballots or before state legislatures. This approach is catching on with abortion opponents tired of incremental efforts against abortion.
